- Hey there! I’m in dire need of help. Okay so I have an oil leak from the PCV Valve Cover of my Cruze (2015 LT 1.4L). I thought it was the gasket but after replacing it there was still a leak. Took another look and the oil is coming from the two bolts on the left. I’m pretty sure I overtightened the bolt as it just spins now.

- Jan 23, 2007 · The little caps ontop of the valve covers come off...take them off. Clean out the one small pin hole. You probably will not see it because it will be clogged with oil. But you will know it is there because of a corrosponding broken hose that runs to it. Just use a scratch owl to clean it out.

- The PCV valve working or not has very minimum to do with crankcase pressure. You have fresh air in and PCV suction out so it is a free flow though the crankcase. If the PCV is stuck closed, the bypass gasses will bo through the fresh air vent the reverse direction and put oil/water into the accordion. The PCV however has lots to do with idle speed.

Mar 14, 2016 · Also- A note to others who are condsidering buying / or currently own a Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Mazda 3, Mazda 6 with the Ford (Mazda) Duratec 2.3 engine of this vintage. The PCV system is located under the intake manifold and these vehicles have the same issues (leaking, collapsed,cracked PCV hose). This is not a quickie repair. Hitting Chevy and GMC trucks starting in 2004, the LLY Duramax is the 2nd version of the 6.6L V8 Duramax. In order to meet stricter emissions regulations, the LLY replaced the LB7 engine and was the first Duramax to use EGR emissions technology.Replaced the PCV and it was still leaking. Took it in to a shop on Tuesday and had a gasket replaced and today it was still Leaking and ALOT more. It turns out we need to replace the whole vacuum pump because oil is now inside due to the PCV putting too much pressure in the seal it broke and somehow oil traveled in there. It’s $280 part + labor.
