It is clearly caused by wind noise (not a mechanical issue), and only when a strong side gust hits. It's a very loud noise and sounds like when you put a blade a grass in between your palms and blow. I can't pinpoint the location, but it's definitely coming from the front end (maybe the front passenger side).

With a plethora of operational moving parts, figuring out the culprit contributing to the car making whining noise is difficult even for experienced car drivers. One way out is to check for all likely possibilities, one by one.Feb 09, 2015 · The noise is not suspension and it happens when I am rolling or moving. At first it was just an on and off squeak/high pitched noise coming from the outside of the car where the wheels are but now its pretty constant. Am I wrong to think that this is a shot bearing that is finally done for? The sound is not coming from the pumpkin area "thank god".

This condition only happens to cars with carburetors. It is usually caused by an idle speed that’s set too high or excessive carbon in the combustion chamber. You hear a whistling noise coming from under the hood: Check the hoses for vacuum leaks. If the whistling comes from inside the vehicle, there’s probably a leak in the weatherstripping. Car tires that do not have steady wear will definitely make humming noise when accelerating, even as a wheel bearing problems. In case you noticed your car tires makes sound since it can also be heard from outside of the car, especially when driving with car window being open. The cause could be an unsteady wear which made a higher and lower spot. The transmission or engine/ driveline is causing the noise. Word of caution do not overheat the engine when doing this. You will have about 60 seconds of drive time with no belt. I had a whine noise at idle/low speeds.
Jan 01, 2010 · A high level of noise at a constant frequency in the spectral order map is indicative of a resonance in the system (evident as visible horizontal bands in Fig. 12.1). When the engine speed sweeps through a resonance and the engine forces excite it, we get a resulting increase response in noise level. When your car is accelerating the engine is working hard to push your car faster and faster so the noise you are hearing may be normal sounds. If a sound has just popped up, it could very well be an indication of a problem. The most common noises cars make during acceleration is either a sucking wooshing sort of sound or a loud exhaust noise.
